Not only are the courses designed to prepare you for that final culminating experience, but each course is further broken down to help you stay on track week by week.
"The format of the courses was easy to follow and proved to maximize my learning in each and every course I took here, " said Nicole McCormick, a student in the psychology program. "My favorite part about the format is that it helped me learn the importance of time management. Working on the final project throughout the term in separate milestones made it nearly impossible to procrastinate on the final project."
Taking a capstone course helped Karinne Colón '20 solidify her plans for the future would be. "The capstone class had us all research all the possibilities for careers related to psychology," she said. "It provided me with a better understanding of the field of public health. I realized that my love of research, within the field of public health, could help me to be an instrument of change to improve health. That research could potentially guide the policies and practices that could impact inequity within healthcare. This class helped me to fine-tune the way I wanted to make my mark through a future degree. It pushed me to find my niche in research." Colón is now pursuing her master's in public health at SNHU.
